The European Journal of Current Legal Issues is Europe's oldest open access online law journal. Its current status as a leading, authoritative resource for timely peer-reviewed pieces on current issues of national and global law is due to the commitment and dedication of its outgoing editor, Philip Leith, Bruce Grant who was responsible for its publication for two decades and the previous editors of the journal. As the editorship changes hands the key aim is to consolidate and build upon this strong position in the face of wide-ranging shifts in the academic publishing environment.
The journal's editorial team welcomes quality articles, commentaries and book reviews. Annually there is the aim of publishing at least one guest edited collection, and we welcome contact from conference and workshop organisers who are seeking a speedy and open access location in which to publish papers. Submissions which analyse the law in European jurisdictions and put these developments into a European context are particularly welcome.
The journal has a Twitter presence @ejocli and actively solicits input on its development and direction. The journal has only strengthened its position since its launch by academic publishing pioneers in 1994 and as Editor I look forward to working with the editorial team and reinforcing this legacy.
