The journal is the oldest law eJournal in Europe and was one of the earliest to advocate the open access model of publishing. It continues to offer authors a world wide readership without barriers and - importantly - copyright in articles remains with the authors themselves. In 2015 the journal was renamed the European Journal of Current Legal Issues to reflect the ever increasing import of European law and European perspectives on national law.
